EPEL brings together community partners, families, schools, funders, and businesses to align efforts and focus on a shared vision: ensuring that all young children and their families in the greater Elgin area have equitable opportunities to thrive. By elevating the needs of young children in every conversation and keeping them at the forefront of community agendas, PEL champions the journey to school readiness. Achieving the best outcomes for children during the critical first 2,000 days of life requires the support and collaboration of the entire community.
Community Engagement includes raising awareness of the importance of early learning and increasing access to initiatives in the community like Language in the Laundromat, early learning Move, Play and Talk park sites, Learning On the Go and free Play & Connect playtimes to meet other families for your child to learn through play.
